Smart gadgets have become indispensable assistants for everyday tasks. Over the past decade, the popularity of smartwatches has not stopped growing. Models of devices have a different appearance in shape and color: from sports design to classic, for women and men, for teenagers and children.

Most Smart Watches are connected to the Internet through the cellular transmission of a specific mobile operator. Mobile Internet is important for the operation of smart watches. Through the connection to it, the device is paired with a smartphone, a mobile application, as well as various other operations: dialing emergency numbers, alarm clock, geolocation, information notifications, and more.

The mobile application for the watch manages the device thanks to the database through the server by ID. If the smart watch supports the Internet connection function, then it can be easily set up.

Smartwatch models of different brands have differences and peculiarities of parameter settings. The settings plan for almost all watches is the same, which allows users to deal with them on their own:

• Turn on the smart watch or unlock the display.
• Select the "Options / Settings" section.
• Select the category "Connection" - Internet / Wi-Fi. It is better to activate the switch so that the device connects automatically in the future.
• In the Wi-Fi category section, select the required wireless network.
• Enter the password and confirm the selected action.

SIM card installation

Some smartwatch models may have a SIM card slot that offers the possibility of using the device as a mobile phone. Such a slot is provided in almost all models of children's smart watches.

To maintain communication and in order not to be constantly tied to the Internet, it is recommended to connect a SIM card.

It is important to understand that most wrist devices have a 2G mobile network. Therefore, you should consider the coverage areas where you most often plan to use smart watches.

First you need to place a SIM card in the smart watch slot, which is located on the side or back of the device. If the installation was done correctly, the mobile network indicator will appear on the watch display for a few seconds.

The note. To activate the SIM card and reset the password, it is recommended to insert it into the smartphone and top up the balance for the required amount according to the operator's tariff.

Tariff selection

Setting up a tariff plan from the selected mobile operator requires you to first select a tariff with 2G network support. Traffic must be at least 500 MB.

Different mobile operators offer their own prices, conditions and connection rules.

Setting the date and time

To set the correct date and time on a smart watch, it is enough to synchronize it with a smartphone for the first time. The information should be pulled automatically.

If this does not happen, the time and date can be set manually. This requires:

• Enter the Smart Watch settings menu.
• Select the "System Settings / Options" category.
• Set the date and time of the network (provided that the mobile phone is also connected to a Wi-Fi network). Or install manually by setting the necessary information and time zone.

If the device still displays the wrong time and date, then you should check the connection of the phone to the watch.

Synchronization with phone

To pair and synchronize a smart watch with a smartphone, you must:

• Install a special mobile application on your phone.
• Activate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
• In the proposed devices for pairing via bluetooth, select the name of the smart device.
• Then connect when this action appears on the screens of the watch and smartphone.

Download the apps you want

The mobile application, in most cases, is installed directly on the phone. To install other various applications on smart watches, you need to follow the following instructions:

• Activate the network connection on the smart device.
• Exit to the menu of the proposed list of applications.
• Select the Play Market or iOS service.
• Search for the required application using the voice assistant or electronic keyboard.
• Open the selected mobile application and click "Install".

By installing the application on your smartphone, you can also configure all the necessary settings and notifications in it.

Any adult and children's smart watch models work thanks to an Internet connection. Common Internet connection problems:

If there is a problem with connecting to the Internet, then you can fix it in the following ways:

• Try restarting your smart watch.
• Remove the SIM card from the watch and check it in the smartphone.
• Check the balance on the tariff plan.

Usually these items are enough to fix the problem. In the event that the smart watch has undergone mechanical damage, you must contact the service center, where the specialist will explain how to solve this problem.

To turn off the Internet in children's or adult smart watches with a SIM card, you must do the following:

• Remove SIM card from smart watch.
• Insert it into your smartphone.
• In the connection settings, deactivate mobile network (data) transmission. This will disable access to the Internet on the SIM card.
• Then re-install the SIM card in the wrist gadget.

It is important to understand that by turning off the Internet on a SIM card in a smart watch, most of the useful functions will no longer be available. Also, there will be no connection to change parameters and the GPS will not work.

When disconnected from the Internet, the children's watch mobile application may receive an error notification in the form: "The device is not connected." In this format, the further use of smart watches is possible only for phone calls.

Faced with such a problem, you need to make sure that the smart watch and smartphone:

• Both are on, not discharged.
• The required amount is on the balance sheet.
• The devices are within a Bluetooth range of up to 10 meters.
• If the connection fails, you can try turning off the bluetooth on your smartphone and turning it back on.

If, after connecting the smartphone to the smart watch, the connection continues to be interrupted, then you should:

• Check if the Bluetooth module and the smart watch itself are functioning correctly on the smartphone.
• Try restarting both devices at the same time.
• Update to the latest software and mobile app versions.

One of the problems why the phone does not recognize the smart watch may be the disconnected Internet, the connection to which can also be checked in the settings settings.

Connecting your device to the wireless internet is not a difficult task. For this you need:

• Unlock the Smart Watch display.
• Enter the settings menu.
• Find "Connection", select "Wi-Fi".
• Activate Wi-Fi if it is not active. This will automatically connect to the internet.

The algorithm for determining the user's location works according to the principle:

• First, the smart watch tries to determine the location using GPS.
• If the signal disappears or weakens, the device automatically switches to searching for a Wi-Fi point (the watch does not need to know the password).
• If Wi-Fi is not detected or coordinates are not available, then Smart Watches tries to determine the location by LBS.
